RAM Clutches Racing Parts

For over three decades, RAM Clutches has been designing and manufacturing high-performance competition and street clutch systems. Originally founded by John Norcia in Canton, Ohio in 1971 and later on relocated to Columbia, South Carolina in 1983, the company produces tried-and-true clutch systems that offer great cost-to-performance value. Their billet racing clutch kits are used by IHRA / PDRA / ADRL Pro Stock and NHRA Pro Mod champions.

The manufacturing process takes place in-house. The company has sufficient manufacturing capabilities with six CNC machines, two Blanchard grinders, and two balancing tables. Ram Clutches works in close proximity with racetrack teams, especially those in drag racing where the company's parts brought success to tens of teams at national level. In 1984, the company offered their RAM Coupler for track racing, which weighed 5 pounds and was only 4 ¾ in diameter.

RAM Clutches was the first company to offer the three-paddle drag racing clutch with metallic pads, which solved the broken clutch hubs trouble. The brand pioneered Poly-Coil clutch hub springs, which drastically increased the lifespan and capability of the clutch plate. They also introduced Carbon-Carbon friction technologies to pro clutch systems, which gave racers a softer initial engagement off the start line. RAM Clutches was the first to engineer 6-1/4 inch race track clutches, smaller in diameter and ensuring quicker acceleration. The company manufactures the only stand-driven Street Dual disc system that allows the floater to positively drive off a stand, instead of depending on a holding strap, which is always better for performance applications.

Ram Clutches offers Pro Street Dual Disc Series produced with a billet diaphragm cover construction. The company’s newly designed billet diaphragm pressure plate anchors a total offering of dual disc clutch systems which are available with different static pressures from 1600 to 2800 pounds. The low profile cover construction makes fitting in tight spaces easily possible, and adjustable build heights and lever angles offer practically limitless possibilities for custom installations. A billet steel pressure bolt and ring in diaphragm spring allow for the clutch to be completely serviceable on the track. This unique design allows now to tailor single disc units for drag racing uses, exactly where a diaphragm clutch is needed.
