The production of the Peugeot 604 started in 1975. It is a mid-size luxury car which turned out to be Peugeot’s first attempt to conquer this massive segment of the market. The car came in a four-door sedan body style and was powered by an efficient and capable 2.7L PRV V6 engine. In 1977, the 604 appeared in the United States and its design received certain changes if compared with its original version. For example, it had larger bumpers and rectangular twin headlamps. Also, during its production run, there were two engine options available: gasoline and turbo-diesel. In 1984, the model was no longer offered to North American customers, and a year later, the model was discontinued.
