The 2021 Mercedes GLS Class lineup was expanded with two new models that make no bones about setting high standards for the SUV segment. The first one is the AMG GLS 63 that returns after a one-year hiatus. Hands down, it’s an all-new model with a slew of new or revised parts under its skin. The SUV is blessed with the Active Ride Control technology for an enhanced driving experience. It is developed to offset body roll, especially when carving corners. In the end, the AMG GLS 63 doesn’t feel slow and heavy despite its dimensions. The vehicle also got speed-sensitive power steering for better control. To get the most out of their SUV, many owners go with the aftermarket rubber that meets their particular road and weather conditions for the ultimate in grip and traction. In our store, you will find the finest tires and many other 2021 Mercedes GLS Class accessories and parts you may need for your repair or maintenance job.
But the biggest thing about this high-performance-oriented AMG edition is certainly its highly capable 4.0-liter V8 engine. It produces over 600 HP with the help of a 48-volt hybrid system that provides additional horsepower and keeps fuel economy in check. The vehicle is touted to reach 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and top out at 174 mph. Along with its capable powertrain, the model received beefier brakes. To wit, 15.7-inch discs with six-piston calipers do the stopping up front, while 14.6-inch rear rotors teamed with single-piston calipers do the job well in the rear. The newcomer isn’t the only car with over 600 HP currently available on the market. However, it’s the only one that provides the horsepower in question along with comfortable seats for seven adults. With AMG front seats, heated first-and second-row seats, a model-specific instrument cluster, MBUX infotainment system, and numerous distinctive accessories, the interior is comfortable, inviting, and attractive looking.
The second new model that joins the GLS lineup after many years of rumors is the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600. This model is currently the most expensive SUV from Mercedes-Benz. But make no mistake about it. The newbie isn’t a standalone model built from the ground up. It’s nothing short of a second-generation GLS. However, it doesn’t mean it’s nothing special. The SUV differentiates itself with many styling tweaks and numerous creature comforts. In a nutshell, just like other Mercedes-Maybach vehicles, it is built with an unabashed focus on comfort and luxury and adorned with multiple attractive and useful accessories inside and out. For instance, it got heated and cooled cupholders and heated, ventilated, and massaging individual chairs for rear passengers along with many other niceties and creature comforts. This model can also be had with a three-person rear bench. On the outside, the GLS 600 has an abundance of chrome trim, Maybach’s signature waterfall grille and many emblems, mesh inserts in the lower part of the bumper, etc. Owners can go further and add a custom flair to their SUV by upgrading it with 2021 Mercedes GLS Class accessories and parts from the aftermarket. On the mechanical side of things, the model is powered by a 550 HP 4.0-liter V8 and shares a mild hybrid system, 4Matic all-wheel drive, Active Body Control, etc. with the AMG GLS 63.
